The barn accommodation

The barn has a large open living and dining space with triple aspect views over the hills and surrounding countryside, there is a small but well equipped kitchen at one end of the room. The barn has great character being open to the oak roof beams, with stone walls and a stone flagged floor. There is a wood burning stove and the barn has underfloor heating throughout. It is comfortably furnished with sofas, chairs and rugs, lamps, books, games and a flat screen tv with dvd player and a radio and cd player.

There is a double bedroom with a kingsize bed and a large main bathroom, both on the ground floor. Upstairs is a twin bedroom with its own en-suite shower room. There is a single bedroom with its own w.c. and wash basin. It is part of the barn but accessed from outside – two strides from the main door.

The barn is completely enclosed by fencing and has a large stone flagged patio at the side and another patio at the rear which has spectacular uninterrupted views of the Black Mountains and the River Monnow valley. Both patios are equipped with wooden garden furniture. It has generous parking and turning space.

Guests are free to walk around and make use of the garden in front of the barn and to walk through the fields, two of which lead down to the River Monnow – a perfect place for a picnic on a hot summer’s day.

The barn is fully equipped for five people and the cost of renting the barn is a fully inclusive price with bed linen and towels provided.

Equipment

Underfloor heating, woodburning stove, flat screen tv, dvd player, cd player and radio. There is a pay phone for telephone calls. The barn is available for non smokers only.

The kitchen has a ceramic hob double oven electric cooker with extractor fan over, microwave oven, large freestanding double door fridge and freezer and dishwasher. Water comes from our own spring. In a laundry cupboard is a washer/dryer.
